Invest in Texas Seminar will be held in Mexico City at the Sheraton Maria Isabel & Tower.  The Invest in Texas Seminar will be part of the Annual Texas Trade Mission in Mexico.  This seminar will target Mexican companies interested in establishing business in Texas.  The seminar will feature Texas specialists in law, accounting, finance, real estate, as well as presentations of Texas communities interested in promoting their cities.  Wilka will be speaking about “Texas Labor and Employment Law.”

August 8, 2006

Wilka will be a speaker at the Houston Metropolitan Paralegal Association Seminar on August 8, 2006.  She will be speaking about “How To Protect Your Business In A Divorce.”  The seminar will take place at 11:30am at The Houston Club.

July 20, 2006

Wilka will be a speaker at the 2006 Business Professional Women/USA (BPW/USA) National Conference July 20, 2006 in Dallas, TX.  Wilka will present a workshop for BPW members focused on creating welcoming BPW Local Organizations through embracing diversity.  The workshop will provide sensitivity training of a variety of factors (age, race, ethnicity, class, etc.) and train members on creating a chapter culture that will facilitate the recruitment and engagement of a diverse range of members.

July 2, 2006

Wilka will be a panelist for “The Basics of Your Business” panel at the LATINA Style Business Series on Friday, July 2, 2006 in Houston.  The event will be covered in LATINA Style Magazine, typically attracts 175 to 200 Latina business owners seeking to grow their business and Latina professionals interested in starting business as well as key business, community and government leaders.  The Business Series will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Houston Downtown (400 Dallas Street) from 8:00 am to 4:00pm.

Wilka will be a panelist for The Houston Bar Association Minority Opportunities in the Legal Profession Committee’s (“HBA”) 2006 Minority Opportunities in the Legal Profession Summer Association Luncheon June 1, 2006.  The luncheon will feature a diverse panel of highly accomplished and distinguished attorneys, from diverse legal practices.  The messages and lessons will be especially beneficial for all minority summer associates in attendance.
